ABOUT US

WE BUILT THIS
TO FIGHT BACK

CryptoTradeSignals was built by traders who got trapped — repeatedly. Fake breakouts, stop-loss hunts, manufactured hype cycles. We lost money the same way millions of retail traders do every day. So we built the tool that would have saved us.

Our story

The Trap Score started as a Saturday afternoon spreadsheet. After a particularly expensive fake breakout, we sat down to ask: was there any way to have known? What signals had been visible in the 24 hours before the trap candle printed?

Funding rate had been in the top 5th percentile. Open interest had hit a 90-day high. A dense long-liquidation cluster sat 8% below price. A bearish RSI divergence had formed on the daily. Every signal was there. None of them individually was decisive. Combined, they were.

That insight became the Trap Score. The spreadsheet became a product. The product became this site.

What we stand for

🔬

Data over opinion

Every signal is generated algorithmically from live market data. We don't take payment to promote coins. We don't run a paid 'trade group.' We don't shill bags. The score is the score.

🪤

Manipulation is the default

Most retail crypto education ignores the fact that institutional manipulation is constant and unprosecuted on offshore venues. We name it, measure it, and filter for it.

Public track record

Every signal we publish is timestamped and logged on the /results page — wins, losses, and skipped trades. You can audit our accuracy yourself.

🔒

No custody, no funds

We never hold user funds, API keys, or exchange credentials. We don't ask for KYC. You execute trades on your own venue. We see your email and nothing else.

How the Trap Score is built

Every signal on this platform goes through the same five-step pipeline. No proprietary black-box. The math is documented, the inputs are public, the outputs are logged.

  1. 01
    Pull live data

Spot prices and 24-hour volume from CoinGecko. Perpetual futures open interest and funding rates from Binance, Bybit, and OKX. Order-book depth snapshots for spoofing detection. All refreshed every 20–30 seconds.

  2. 02
    Compute technicals

RSI (14-period), EMA stack (9, 21, 50, 200), MACD (12-26-9), Bollinger Bands (20, 2σ), ATR (14). Same calculations every TradingView chart uses — no proprietary indicators that hide what we are measuring.

  3. 03
    Compute Trap Score

Five inputs combined: funding rate z-score, open interest divergence, liquidation cluster proximity, volume-to-price anomaly, candle wick-to-body ratio. Each normalized 0–10, weighted by historical predictive power, summed into a single composite score.

  4. 04
    Generate the signal

A coin gets BUY, SELL, NEUTRAL, or STAY AWAY based on the combination of technical state and Trap Score. STAY AWAY (Trap Score > 7) overrides any directional signal — even a textbook BUY setup is flagged as dangerous when manipulation is detectable.

  5. 05
    Publish and log

Every signal published goes to the /results page with a timestamp hash so the record is auditable. We do not retroactively edit signals. We do not hide losing trades. The full record is the only honest claim.

Who builds this

Three desks contribute to every signal we publish. Authorship is shared — no single named guru, no "trading messiah" branding. Output is what matters.

Frequently asked questions

Is CryptoTradeSignals free?
Yes, the free tier gives you live Trap Scores and signals for 5 major coins (BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, AVAX). No credit card required. Pro unlocks 250+ coins, entry/stop/take-profit levels on clean signals, alerts, and watchlists — $19/month or $149/year.
How accurate are your signals?
We publish the full backtest on the /results page — methodology, costs, an out-of-sample split, and even the strategies we cut — so the record is auditable. The honest headline is reward-to-risk, not win rate: the engine cuts losers fast and lets winners run for a 3.2:1 average reward-to-risk across 1,601 trades. Win rate is deliberately moderate (roughly 1 in 3) — that is how disciplined trend-following behaves, and at a 3.2:1 payoff it is a durable edge, not a weakness.
What is the Trap Score?
A 0–10 metric that quantifies how likely a coin's current price action is being engineered by institutional players. Five inputs feed it: funding rate extremes, open interest divergence, liquidation cluster proximity, volume anomaly, and candle wick patterns. Scores above 7 trigger our STAY AWAY signal.
Do you take custody of user funds?
No. We never hold funds, API keys, or exchange credentials. You execute every trade on your own exchange. We see your email and platform-usage data — nothing else.
Where does your data come from?
Live exchange data via CoinGecko (spot prices, market cap, volume), Binance/Bybit/OKX (perpetual futures, funding rates, open interest), and direct order-book snapshots. No estimated or back-filled data.
Is this financial advice?
No. CryptoTradeSignals is an educational platform providing technical analysis. We are not registered financial advisors. Every signal includes the data behind it so you can make your own decision. Trade responsibly.
How is this different from TradingView or Coinglass?
TradingView gives you charting. Coinglass gives you derivative data. Neither computes a manipulation-risk score across the whole market in real time. Trap Score is purpose-built for that one job — combining the inputs other tools surface separately into a single decision-relevant number.
